The Grand Mesa

The Grand Mesa

Grand Mesa is the largest flat-top mountain in the world.  Located east of Grand Junction between the Colorado River and Gunnison River, Grand Mesa stretches for about 40 miles and encompasses an area of nearly 500 square miles.  With a maximum elevation of 11,327 feet, much of the mesa can be found within Grand Mesa National Forest.  The mesa is traversed by State Highway 65, which provides a beautiful contrast in landscape, climate and vegetation.
